Peyton is a senior in the Class of 2023 at Lake Center Christian School in Hartville. We held her June senior portrait session at Gervasi Vineyards which proved to be the perfect classy location for this classy lady.
As soon as we met up with each other in the parking lot, I knew that I was going to love working with Peyton. Her bright and sincere smile won me over immediately. We discussed her great wardrobe options that she brought and created our plan for the evening. She had such a great mix of formal, classy, sporty, casual and trendy outfits and she looked amazing in all of them.
We started her session in this lovely soft blue dress that works with her coloring so well. It was also the perfect complement with her mortar board and graduation gown. Peyton and her mom are geniuses in planning and purchased a generic white graduation cap and gown so that she could include them in her senior portraits. She even brought the most adorable kindergarten graduation picture to include. What an amazing parallel to see them together. Tissues please!
Peyton's friends would describe her as kind, which is no surprise. Peyton uses her talents to serve in a variety of ways. She is involved in her church's Children's Ministry. At school, she is a varsity cheerleader, choir member, and the secretary for the National Honor Society. She also worked the last two summers at her church camp, Camp CHOF. This past year, she was a Day Camp Counselor.
Peyton's second outfit was a stunning contrast to the first. This bright and bold red looked equally fabulous on her and helps her to pop out of the scene. Tying in those red flowers created some nice color harmony, too.
Peyton enjoys calligraphy and hand lettering. She will never pass up an opportunity to go shopping. Coffee is "essential to her existence" and a Starbucks Iced Hazelnut Latte is her go-to drink. And, she can binge watch Law and Order SVU for hours.
The sophisticated blue velvet prom dress was an absolute stunner on her! She was all elegance and grace and we had to make the most of that. The simple but stately backdrop of the infamous wood door was ideal to set the stage for such a classy look.
The fourth outfit allowed us to play with Peyton's fun and carefree side which fits in well with some of her favorite things. Her favorite movie is Top Gun: Maverick and she enjoys watching Clueless, too! MercyMe and Imagine Dragons hold the top spots on her playlists. She will choose to vacation in New York City anytime, but especially at Christmas. Ramen noodles and popcorn are her food favs. She found Altar'd State in Columbus and it instantly became her favorite store. Many of her senior portrait outfits came from there.
I call Peyton's fifth outfit the "power dress" and I am reminded how she owns the color red. I think that she would nail any interview anyway, but showing up in this confidence-building dress would seal the deal without even having to say anything. I knew that the bolder colors of the still house would make the perfect backdrop for this dress and we certainly made a statement.
With a dedication to cheerleading, it was important to capture something that has been such a big part of her high school career. The appropriate change in hair style gave her an entirely different look. It was starting to get dark at this point, but we managed to capture some beautiful final portraits.
Peyton says that when she graduates, she will miss having a small environment of close-knit friends compared to the large quantity of people attending colleges. However, she will be happy to experience the new and exciting change. She has been accepted and plans on attending Cedarville University to further her education. She will be majoring in Allied Health with a minor in Biblical Studies to pursue her ultimate goal of becoming a Physician Assistant.
Peyton, it was such a pleasure for me to get to work with you and your mom that evening and through the entire process. It was my honor to get to help you tell your story and document the amazing young lady that you are!
What did Peyton have to say about her senior portrait session?
"After searching multiple local photographers websites over the course of several days, my mom and I chose Laura Esposito Photography based on her amazing Senior galleries and also what was included in her senior sessions. We really liked the unlimited outfit changes, the ability to choose our location, and the length of the session. I liked that Laura was so bubbly and personable. She made me feel so comfortable, like I had known her forever. She explained what was going to take place and allowed me see the pictures as we went along. My senior session made me feel confident and it was such a fantastic way to kick off my senior year! My favorite photos were the ones of me wearing red. I so loved how Laura was able to pair them with a specific background (the arch and the cafe) in order to make the red color pop. The session matched my style and personality...simple, yet elegant. My advice for seniors in the future would be to purchase a simple cap and gown set that matches what your school will have you wear and have Laura take pictures of you with them. Laura does a great job of encapsulating how being a high school graduate will feel!"
