Hayden is a Louisville Senior attending RG Drage Career Technical Center in the Class of 2024, and we held his August senior portrait session at a friend's farm. Hayden has some really cool interests and we decided that the farm was the perfect location to highlight all of his pursuits and incorporate some interesting backgrounds for the casual portraits. This proved to be a great decision because we easily created a huge variety of portraits within our session together.
When I first arrived at the farm, I found Hayden in a fabulous shade of green that worked so well in front of the green livestock trailer. I also loved the look that we created in front of the metal corrugated wall. All it took was one capture for me to know that I was going to love working with Hayden and that smile.
Hayden's friends describe him as funny, outgoing and laid-back. I found this to be true as we worked together creating his portraits.
Hayden's next outfit was another casual look with the flannel and jeans. This was a great look for various aspects of the farm and we certainly capitalized on that. One of my favorite locations was the wood pile that was under a lean-to and allowed me greater control over the direction of light. This spot was so wonderful that we returned to it again in his next outfit.
Hayden is a busy guy. He plays lacrosse at school and is active in a lot of outdoor sports. He enjoys hunting with both his shotgun and his crossbow. He is into fishing and riding his ATV. These pursuits will be captured later in the session.
There were some cows nearby in the pasture, so, of course, we had to let them in the background. It was fun to work all of the angles. Hayden did a fabulous job of relaxing into the session and offering wonderful expressions.
We made another outfit change into a darker green hoodie that was ideal for several spots. The rustic shed was absolute perfection with the color and textures.
Then, we had to return to the wood pile.
We had to work in the gun and fishing.
Along with these great hobbies, Hayden has some other favorites. Top Gun is his favorite movie. He likes watching the Bengals and OSU football. Not surprisingly, his favorite place to shop is Fin, Feather, Fur.
Our next set of portraits were created to feature his love of bow hunting. So, off to the woods we went and trekked out to his tree stand. His camouflage gear was appropriate to sell this look. These pictures are among Hayden's favorites.
When Hayden leaves high school, he knows he is going to miss playing lacrosse. He is also going to miss playing football and soccer with his friends for fun.
Hayden's final outfit was his Fox riding gear. We finished up our session with some amazing portraits with his four wheeler. Talk about ending on a high note!
Hayden is currently learning the skill of welding at RG Drage. He plans to do the welding while he is going to the police academy. He would like to become a State Trooper.
Thank you, Hayden for trusting me and the process of creating your senior portraits! I'm thrilled that we got to feature you and all of the really cool things that you do. Best wishes to you as you pursue your aspirations in law enforcement.
