I have had the absolute pleasure of working with Grace throughout her senior year as one of my LEP Ambassadors. From our very first session together in the studio to her full senior portrait session in the summer, every experience with Grace has been a joy. Her sessions have showcased her personality, style, and passions in a way that makes each portrait feel uniquely her.
Our first session together took place in March of 2024, and it was such a fun way to get to know each other and start creating beautiful portraits. Grace’s studio session featured a variety of outfits and backdrops, each highlighting a different side of her style and personality.
We started with a casual denim outfit against an all-white background with a reflective floor, creating dynamic and eye-catching images. She then changed into a fun and stylish royal blue jumpsuit with ruffles, adding a pop of color and movement to her portraits.
Next, Grace wore a sleek white jumpsuit that she paired with white sunglasses, giving her portraits a modern and playful feel. We also incorporated her official Hoover High School cap and gown into some shots, capturing the excitement and reality of her senior year.
One of my favorite segments of this session was when Grace wore her stunning pink prom dress. The dress flowed beautifully, adding movement and elegance to the portraits. We wrapped up her studio session with a deep green dress against an earthy tan backdrop, creating a timeless and sophisticated look.
In May, Grace returned for a special session that allowed me to experiment with a new concept: the Square Session. This unique composite arrangement features a 3x3 grid of portraits, with each square showcasing a different pose and expression. Grace and I collaborated to design a Square Session that represented her life and interests.
At the center of her composition, Grace chose to feature herself holding her Bible, as her faith is the foundation of her life. Surrounding this central image, we incorporated her love for music and her experience working in construction, creating a cohesive and meaningful piece. The final result was a stunning and personal representation of Grace’s journey and passions.
We officially kicked off July with Grace’s full senior portrait session at the breathtaking Gervasi Vineyard. This location provided the perfect blend of natural beauty and architectural charm to complement Grace’s wardrobe choices.
Her first outfit was a crisp white sundress, which stood out beautifully against the pond and pavilion backdrops. Next, she wore a blue jumpsuit that perfectly accentuated her tall, graceful silhouette, adding a stylish hat to complete the look.
Grace’s third outfit was a red sundress, paired with a denim jacket, boots, and a hat. The combination created a fun, country-inspired vibe that popped against the neutral tones of the archway setting.
One of the most special outfits of the day was a soft orange top with flowing sleeves and white cut-off shorts—an outfit Grace picked out with her grandmother. We captured these portraits around the Still House, complementing the warm tones of her outfit with the rustic surroundings.
For the final portion of the session, we traveled to Bloom Hill Farm in Hartville, where vibrant flowers and golden sunshine set the scene. Grace wore a flowing white dress, which perfectly suited the dreamy, sunlit atmosphere. It was the perfect way to end such a beautiful session.
Grace is deeply involved in her church community, attending Bible studies every Tuesday and Wednesday and worship services on Sundays. Her friends describe her as loyal, selfless, and honest—qualities that truly shine through in her portraits and personality.
She enjoys Christian music and her favorite movie is The Chosen. When it comes to food, she loves dining at Park Street Pizza and Olive Garden. After graduation, Grace plans to begin an apprenticeship as an electrician, embracing a hands-on career path that aligns with her skills and interests.
“I loved how fun it was and how it wasn’t stressful at all. My favorite ones are the portraits by the pond and near the flowers. I also love my dresses that had more flow to it. My advice to other seniors is to just have fun and be yourself.”
Grace, thank you for allowing me to capture your senior year! Your sessions were a joy, and I cannot wait to see all the amazing things you accomplish in the future.
