There's something so special about photographing a senior who brings both natural beauty and a genuine, easygoing spirit to her session, and Ava is exactly that kind of person. A senior in the Class of 2026 at Louisville High School in Ohio, Ava came ready to have fun, and the results were absolutely stunning. We spent a beautiful September day together at Zoar Historic Village, one of my favorite locations for senior portraits, and I am so in love with how her gallery turned out.

Meet Ava
Ava's friends would describe her as friendly, and that couldn't be more fitting. From the moment we started shooting, she had a warm, relaxed energy that made everything feel so natural in front of the camera. One of her most striking features is her long, beautiful hair, which was truly a showstopper throughout the entire session.
When she's not busy with school, you'll likely find Ava shopping (her go-to spots are DryGoods and Target), listening to country music, or dreaming about her next trip to Florida. Ask her about her favorite food and she'll tell you pizza... a girl after my own heart!
But if you want to know what really makes Ava who she is, she'll tell you about her grandma. "Someone I look up to is my grandma. I admire her because she's always there when I need her." That kind of gratitude and closeness says everything about Ava's character.

Looking Ahead: Life After Louisville High School
Ava is heading to Stark State College to major in Early Childhood Education. This is a path that feels perfectly matched to her warm, caring personality. Beyond that, she's excited to travel and experience new places. As for what she'll miss most about high school? Her friends, without a doubt.
It's been such a privilege to capture this season of her life before she steps into this exciting next chapter.

The Session: Zoar Historic Village in September
Zoar Historic Village is an absolutely magical setting for senior portraits. With its historic architecture, lush greenery, iron bridge, and serene river, every corner offers something unique... and Ava took full advantage of it all. Here's a look at how our session unfolded:

The Iron Covered Bridge
We kicked off Ava's session at the iconic iron covered bridge, one of my favorite spots in Zoar. Ava wore a pretty lavender top with ruffled cap sleeves paired with trendy ripped jeans, a perfect mix of feminine and casual. Her gorgeous long hair was truly the star of these shots, flowing beautifully in the soft September light.

Serene River Setting
Next, we waded into the river for some breathtaking images in Ava's long, flowing bluedress. The calm water and natural surroundings created such a dreamy, ethereal feel. These are the kinds of photos that stop you in your scroll.

Rustic Barn & Sandstone Building
For a little contrast and texture, Ava changed into a coral floral top with acid wash jeans. The warm tones of the coral popped beautifully against the rustic, weathered character of the barn-like building and the historic sandstone architecture nearby. This look had such a great editorial vibe.

Brick Sidewalk with Picket Fences
Ava's cute black dress was the perfect choice for the charming brick sidewalk lined with white picket fences. Classic, timeless, and effortlessly chic, these images are going to be framed for sure.

Garden in the Golden Hour Light
As the afternoon light began to soften and glow, we headed into the garden for two gorgeous looks. First, Ava wore a white dress that absolutely glowed in the late afternoon sun... pure magic. Then, she switched into a yellow eyelet dress that felt playful and sweet, perfectly complementing the garden setting and the golden light.

Lake Setting to Close Out
We wrapped up this beautiful session at the lake, where Ava wore a cool sleeveless top with patches of texture that added visual interest and a modern feel. It was the perfect way to close out an already incredible gallery.

What Ava Had to Say
I always love hearing from my seniors after their sessions, and Ava's words genuinely mademy heart full:
"I loved all the great ideas Laura had and how sweet she was the entire time. During my session I felt really good about the pictures. Laura was very helpful in figuringout what would look good. During my reveal session I was very excited and loved my pictures."
"If you have any ideas, ask about them because Laura is very open to ideas and letting you be part of the session."
