When you step in front of my camera—whether you are a high school senior ready to celebrate your story or a professional building your brand—you deserve more than a nice picture. You deserve to feel confident, comfortable, understood, and supported every step of the way.
Choosing a photographer is a little bit like choosing a hairstylist or a doctor — the skill matters, but so does the person.
So, before we talk about what I do, let me tell you a little about who I am.
I am a wife and a mom of two grown daughters, both married to wonderful men. I have a grandson who is basically my whole heart. My husband and I spend our free time hiking, kayaking, fishing, open-air driving in the Jeep, and cheering on supercross and motocross events together. Our home is shared with Lucy, our long-haired miniature dachshund, and Mabel, our cat — both of whom rule the house. I am obsessed with horses. I am active in my church community at St. Joseph Maximo, and I love partnering with the City of Louisville and Best Version Media on local projects.
I am most at peace when I am outside, preferably tending to my flowers and herbs or kayaking on a lake. I would choose flannel and hiking boots over a dress every single time. Country music is almost always playing somewhere in my world, and I am not even a little ashamed of how many rom-coms I have cried through.
These are the things that make me me — but they are not the things that make me your photographer.
What makes me your photographer runs a little deeper. It is rooted in a set of core strengths that I have always carried but did not fully understand until I sat down and did the work to name them. And once I did, everything about the way I photograph people made perfect sense.
I completed the Gallup CliftonStrengths Assessment during a professional development workshop with Stephanie Warren. The results were eye-opening. They confirmed something I have always believed: the experience I create for my clients is no accident. It is built from my core strengths—qualities I have used throughout my life, but can now lean into with even more intention.
These are the strengths that ranked in my top five… and the reasons they make your portrait experience so meaningful, empowering, and enjoyable.

1. Empathy — I Understand How You Feel, Even Before You Say It
Portrait sessions can stir up nerves.
“What do I do with my hands?” “Will I look natural?” “Is this expression okay?”
Because Empathy is my top strength, I can sense how you are feeling and adjust instantly. I read body language, tone, and energy quickly, which helps me:
Put you at ease the moment we start
Offer encouragement when you need it
Guide you gently when posing feels unfamiliar
Celebrate you when you begin to shine
For seniors, that means feeling seen and understood during a season filled with big emotions and transitions.
For professionals, it means getting headshots that reflect both confidence and authenticity—not stiffness or forced smiles.
Empathy allows me to create a space where you can relax, trust the process, and be yourself. And... deal with some occasional squeals of delight from your photographer.
2. Connectedness — I See the Bigger Story Behind Your Portraits
I believe your portrait session is never “just pictures.” It is part of a bigger story, YOUR story.
Connectedness helps me look deeper... to understand the meaning behind your choices, your style, your personality, your goals, and your relationships.
For seniors, this means I do not just photograph “a cute outfit by a pretty tree.” I photograph the chapter you are closing and the one you are stepping into. I capture how you choose to define yourself.
For professionals, I do not just take “a headshot for LinkedIn.” I take an image that supports your purpose, your brand, and the connections you want to create. It is about how you want to be seen and understood.
Connectedness allows me to craft portraits that feel thoughtful, intentional, and uniquely YOU.
3. Developer — I See Your Potential and Help You Step Into It
This strength is one of the biggest reasons seniors and professionals walk away feeling confident.
I naturally notice even the smallest growth or improvement... how you relax your shoulders, how your smile becomes genuine, how your confidence builds as the session unfolds. And I celebrate it with you.
This shows up in your session as:
Encouragement that feels genuine, not forced
Posing guidance that helps you improve without feeling critiqued
A safe, positive space where you can shine
Patience and excitement as I watch your confidence bloom
Developer helps me guide you to the very best version of yourself. Watching you shine is my greatest joy.
4. Belief — My Work Is Driven by Purpose, Not Pressure
I am grounded by strong core values. I believe everyone deserves to feel:
Confident
Comfortable
Supported
Proud of who they are
This belief shapes everything I do, from how I interact with you to the quality of the images I deliver. I am not photographing you because it is a job. I am documenting an important moment in your life, your career, or your family’s story.
Belief gives me the purpose and consistency that clients often tell me they can feel the moment they meet me. I will always be "me" because my strong core values drive my interactions.
5. Discipline — I Create Structure That Makes Your Experience Easy and Stress-Free
My love of organization is a gift to my clients.
This is the strength behind:
My clear, detailed communication
An informative and user-friendly website
A step-by-step portrait process
Easy scheduling and planning
Well-organized locations and timelines
Thoughtful preparation so you know exactly what to expect
Because of Discipline, your session never feels chaotic or confusing. Seniors and parents feel supported from start to finish. Professionals appreciate the efficiency and clarity. And everyone gets a polished, consistent experience that feels smooth and stress-free. This allows you to shift your focus and energy to appreciating this moment in time.
These strengths do not just describe who I am.
They explain why your portrait experience feels different when you work with me.
They mean:
You will always feel comfortable and guided
Your story will be honored and understood
Your confidence will grow throughout the session
You will be supported by someone who truly cares
You will enjoy a stress-free, organized, meaningful experience
You will receive images that reflect the very best version of yourself
When you step in front of my camera, you are not just “getting pictures.” You are gaining a photographer who is deeply invested in your success, your comfort, and your happiness with every moment of the process.
And that is what makes your portraits shine.
